Initially comprised solely of the Basrah Light grade, Iraq's Basrah complex of exports saw the introduction of Basrah Heavy in 2015 and Basrah Medium in 2020. Basrah Light was then removed from international markets by January 2022. Petro-Logistics’ cargo level API information shows that while exports for the remaining grades remains elevated, they have been getting lighter while stable quality remains elusive.
